If you love performing and love working with kids, this is one of the best casual gigs in Melbourne. You walk into a school hall, teach a room full of Prep to Year 12 students to spin plates, juggle scarves and balance on a rola bola, and walk out having made their week.
Who we're looking for
The kind of person who thrives here.
Performers, coaches and movement people
Circus artists, physical theatre performers, gymnasts, dancers, PE teachers. Anyone comfortable moving, demonstrating and holding a room.
Great with Prep to Year 12
Circus runs across the whole school, from little Prep kids to Year 12s. You bring big energy without losing the room. Firm but warm. You've taught kids before or you know instinctively how to.
Available in school hours during term
Bookings are mid-morning to early afternoon during school terms. Perfect if you're a gigging performer, uni student or parent wanting consistent daytime work.
Melbourne-based with a car
You travel to a school for a booking. We provide all the equipment. A car and driver's licence make the day much easier.
What the work looks like
A day in the life.
- Arrive at a school 20 minutes before the first class. Set up your circus kit in the hall.
- Run 3 to 5 workshops back-to-back. Each class of around 25 students rotates through juggling, plate spinning, scarves, feathers and rola bola.
- Pack down, hand back to the classroom teacher, and head home. Most days wrap by 3pm.
- All the boring stuff, bookings, invoices, school liaison and WWCC paperwork, is handled by head office. You just show up and perform.
